I am not sure how old you have to be before you don't hear your father's voice when making a decision, but I have been hearing mine a lot lately.
Marcee lost her brother-in-law at the end of 2021 due to Covid. Our nephew is still in the hospital with Covid ( and has been for the last four months). We were not able to go see them during Christmas, but our plans are now made and we head out Tuesday.
The issue has never been should we go or not. The answer is a resounding "yes". The only issue is that they live in Lander, Wyoming . . . and it is February . . . and there is also a mountain range between us and them.
This week we start our adventure into the Rocky Mountains in the dead of winter! We are meeting Marcee's other sister and husband in Lander to do some construction projects, play a little guitar with our other nephew and spend family time together and remember Bob.
And just an aside, I have two deeply rooted fears: (1) Being stuck in the middle of
the ocean (let me reference Jaws and The Perfect Storm) and (2) Being stuck in the mountains in a snow storm (remember the Donner Party?). Putting my "aside" aside, the car is packed, guitar and tools are in the back of the car, and we head out Tuesday.
So...every other day or so, I thought it would be fun to blog about the trip and whatever adventures lie in wait for us. Please feel free to travel with us (on-line) and comment as you feel moved. If two or three days go by without a post, please send some St. Bernards our way.
Pretty sure I’m going to hear my mom’s voice in my head for a long, long time too ❤️ Please post during your travels and adventures!
